Considering a remap but not sure if it’s worthwhile expense? It’s not a problem. We get lots of inquiries from potential customers about our remaps and if they’re really what they are cracked up to be, so here are the Top 10 Reasons to Remap is worthwhile to help you determine whether or not you want to get it completed.
1. Remapping gives you more torque
Torque refers to the rotational or the force of twisting around an axis. It determines the capability of an engine work. An increase of torque is a signification for an acceleration increase. The torque in turbo-petrol and diesel vehicles is usually at low revs . It is this torque that gives you that shove in the back when you put your foot down. After a remap, the torque on these cars will increase by 20-30% and on naturally aspirated models by about 5%. A higher torque level means faster acceleration, and faster in-gear times that are crucial for fast and safe taking over.
2. The remapping process gives you more power
Horsepower is a product of torque and a different value, RPM divided by 5252. It’s a measure of how fast a car eventually is and how much the power of the engine could propel it. Higher horsepower means a greater speed. In simple terminology, horsepower refers to the speed at which the engine can achieve its highest speed. This is the reason the top automobiles on the road are more than 1000bhp, and the Bloodhound SSC 133,151bhp. For the everyday driver the more horsepower is equivalent to greater acceleration and a higher RPM, as well as safer driving.
3. Remapping removes flat spots for smoother power delivery
If it’s less the inability to power bothers you about your car but the way it delivers its power, remapping must be thought about. Remapping will remove flat areas of the system to allow you to access your power at more RPM which results in an easier drive.
4. Remapping leads to better fuel economy in normal driving
With more torque produced at all RPM that means you don’t have to utilize much throttle to reach and maintain a speed. The engine of a car doesn’t have to work as hard moving its load and by reducing the load for the engine you’re significantly reducing the amount of fuel it will require to run. This results in improved fuel economy and our fleet customers have experienced significant fuel savings through this program. If you are driving with your feet down every day the fuel efficiency will obviously get worse. It’s because you’ll be taking advantage of your vehicle’s newly discovered strength and torque, and you’ll be burning more fuel.
5. Remapping is a mechanically secure upgrade
Remapping is a safe upgrade provided it is done by a trained professional. we have many customers who have accumulated more than 10,000 miles of remapped vehicles without any issue From 1.9 TDI vans to 2.7 L Audi RS4B5’s. It helps of course that the majority of our clients look after their cars, and if you’re doing similar, then you should be able to anticipate your vehicle to last the durability of a typical vehicle.
6. Remapping could revive the passion you once had for your vehicle
Nothing’s worse than being behind the wheel of an unreliable vehicle. Not only is it dull however, it could be hazardous too. Remapping could result in 20-30 percent greater power or torque from the engine. That’s a considerable amount and you’ll notice the upgrade as you get your foot on the pedal. We’re confident that you’ll be enjoying your vehicle a lot more, and all of our customers have cited remapping as the best thing they’ve ever purchased for their vehicle.
7. Remapping is the most efficient pound-for pound performance enhancement
In comparison to exhaust upgrades that are standalone along with intercooler upgrades, and air intake upgrades Remapping can provide huge performance gains. With a new exhaustsystem, intercooler and air intake you are likely to get an additional 35bhp out of an existing year-end 2015 Golf GTI at a cost more than PS2,000. However, with a remap you’d get a minimum 50bhp and 50 lb/ft. The performance boost is more than 60% less built on the original components. Stage 1 tuning is the most effective pound-for-pound performance upgrade on the market and, if you’re looking for more performance, you can include other upgrades later on to build a stage 2 vehicle.
8. Remaps can result in better towing
If you’re towing a caravan, an automobile, a caravan, a mobile home or the like getting more torque through an upgrade will aid the tow vehicle in a significant way. With more power, you’ll be in a position to tow more weight without placing excessive strain on the motor and drivetrain.
9. Remapping doesn’t just apply to cars.
Vans, Lorries, tractors and quad bikes as well as agricultural equipment like cultivators and mowers can all be remapped or chip tuned for more performance and torque. We reprogram a range of vehicles for economy and performance, enhancing performance and driveability in particular diesel tractors as well as mowers, which greatly benefit from 20% more torque.
10. Remapping can be achieved in around an hour
Modern vehicles allow remapping. This is accomplished through an OBD port. We connect a cable to the OBD port and create an immediate connection between our computer along with that of the ECU that allows us to access and write software that is on it. Remapping typically takes around an hour, and when we do it, it’s carried out by the roadside in mobile service. On older vehicles and certain agricultural equipment, “chipping” is mandatory. Chip tuning involves the removal of the program chip from the ECU in order to have it programmed again or replaced. It is done at the site of service by our staff with a time of approximately an hour. We retain your original file on our system to be used at some point in the near future.
